#191: Learn by doing: CUBE CSS

Andy Bell joins me to talk through his CSS methodology he calls CUBE CSS. That’s Composition, Utility, Block, and Exception.

CUBE CSS is a CSS methodology that’s orientated towards simplicity, pragmatism and consistency. It’s designed to work with the medium that you’re working in—often the browser—rather than against it.

We end up building this:

I had literally no experience whatsoever with this particular methodology that Andy has put together. I just watched Andy work and asked questions along the way.

All in all I found it to be pretty accommodating. It’s loose. Like CSS itself, the trick is to use best practices to help guide you do a healthy, maintainable place.
